Should Christians be celebrating the Hebrew feast days instead of participating in pagan rituals found in some of our national holidays?

As God brings the restoration of all things (Math.17:11), He is moving on all believers to become acquainted with their Hebrew roots where our faith originated.  He is encouraging Christians every where to understand the significance of and celebrate His feast days.  He is also removing the veil from the eyes of His chosen Hebrew race and we are witnessing them come to a relationship with their Messiah in large numbers.  This section of the site is dedicated to providing direction and information on these Hebrew feast days from a Messianic, New and Old Testament, age of grace perspective.

Romans 11 is clear in emphasizing we Christians (wild olive trees) were grafted into the good olive tree (Hebrews) and are partakers of the root and the fatness of the good olive tree.  We are adopted into the family of Abraham which means, Just like natural parents adopting a child, we learn and develop the traditions and beliefs of our new family.   If we "branches" are drawing our sustenance from the same root, then we should be looking, thinking and acting like the rest of the tree.  If we still find ourselves wanting to be like the wild olive tree, then we might need to do a little introspection and see if we may still be getting our sustenance from the wild root.  Our page on salvation and false conversions may help define which root is providing the nourishment.  Romans 11 also states "For if God spared not the natural branches (because of unbelief,) take heed lest He also spare not thee."

Galatians 3:28-29 Says, "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.  And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."  If we believers are the true seed of Abraham, as this verse says we are, and all the prosperity preachers are claiming the "Old Covenant blessings of Abraham," shouldn't we also be following the Old Covenant commands that the children of Abraham keep the feast days "forever throughout your generations," or do we get to pick and choose which parts we want and discard the rest?  Please provide me biblical support if you believe the discard-the-bad-parts doctrine!

1 Corinthians 5:7-8: "Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us:  Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened [bread] of sincerity and truth."

God's Holy days celebrated by the Hebrews

The Hebrew Calendar is different from our Gregorian calendar.  This link will take you to a page that explains the difference and gives the dates for upcoming feast days through 2012.

Passover (Pesach ) is the first Holy day of the Hebrew new year which begins with the month of Nissan.

Feast of Pentecost (Shavuot) is the Fourth Holy Day in the third month of the Hebrew year.  It is the Sunday after the seventh Sabbath (Saturday) following Passover.

Feast of Trumpets (Rash HaShanah ) is the first Day of the Civil new year, the first day of the seventh month of the Hebrew year which is the month of Tishrei.
